Oriental carpets and rugs were made to cover floor spaces and provide warmth and comfort under foot. However, they can slide around and provide a potential trip hazard for their owners. Being handmade, they can occasionally change shape over time too, depending on where the they are placed and the concentration of footfall.

Slipping, creeping and shape change can all be eliminated by using a high quality, professional grade underlay. We encourage clients to use underlay after cleaning and repair to protect your reinvigorated carpet or rug. Dust and dirt can become lodged deep into the foundation of the rug, and footfall with no underlay can have an abrasive effect – wearing down the rug at much faster rate than without.
